Leonardo DiCaprio, Dustin Hoffman, Forest Whitaker, Tobey Maguire, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Halle Berry, Jaime Foxx, Ashton Kutcher, Natalie Portman and other celebs launched the first of a series of Public Service Announcements to encourage American youth to register to vote. The non-partisan PSA were produced by Leonardo’s Appian Way production company, and they were created to engage and inspire young people to register and vote and participate in the upcoming election.

Total of 30 celebrities in this viral video using a bit of reverse psychology because they really do want us to get out there Nov. 4. By the end of the PSA, the celebrities involved had changed their tune and demanded if you care about the future you will register and vote. The PSA is called “5 Friends” because they want you to send the video to 5 people you know, and then they send it to 5 people they know.

What’s Your Carfun Footprint? is a new marketing campaign from MINI USA and its agency Butler Shine Stern & Partners poses this very question and highlights that drivers don’t have to sacrifice fun for fuel efficiency. MINI USA defines Carfun Footprint as: “A measurement of how much fun your car is versus how much impact it has on the environment.”

Spreading MINI’s philosophy of maximizing fun while minimizing impact, the new campaign underscores these principles inherent to its brand and products from the beginning. The Classic Mini, born out of the post-World War II oil crisis that sent fuel prices soaring in the late-1950s, struck the perfect balance between fuel efficiency, functionality and fun — an approach that’s just as relevant now as it was then. The centerpiece of the campaign is an interactive online application, the Carfun Footprint Calculator, now launched at CarfunFootprint.com. which enable consumers to input their vehicle makes and models to determine their scores and see how their vehicles stack up against nearly 200 other models.

DJ AM And Travis Barker

Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM were critically injured in a plane crash Friday night in Columbia, South Carolina. The plane’s four other passengers were killed.

Travis Barker and DJ AM had just performed along with Perry Farrell and headliner Gavin DeGraw at a free T-Mobile-sponsored show, drew 10,000 people into the streets of Five Points, the neighborhood near the University of South Carolina. The plane was a Learjet 60, carrying six people, including Travis Barker and DJ AM and was headed for Van Nuys, California, crashed during takeoff from a South Carolina airport at 11:53 p.m. Friday. Pilot Sarah Lemmon, co-pilot James Bland, Chris-Baker (Travis Barker’s assistant) and Charles Still (security guard) were killed. Travis Barker and DJ AM saved their own lives by jumping out of the door of the burning plane when the plane came to a halt. The two survivors, Travis Barker and DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) have been taken to the hospital. They are in critical condition with extensive burns at the Joseph Stills Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia.
