Burma, officially the Union of Myanmar, is the largest country by geographical area in mainland Southeast Asia. On Friday May 2, 2008, Cyclone Nargis hit southwestern Burma with winds at speeds of 120 mph. This is the worst natural disaster in Asia since the boxing day Tsunami in 2004. In addition to the damage done by Cyclone Nargis, human rights abuses still continue in Burma.

Google released a useful new Gmail feature in its labs, which could help prevent the intoxicated from sending embarrassing late-night emails they might regret in the morning. The name is derived from the slang term “beer goggles,” or the curious effect of alcohol on one’s ability to see the true nature of that “cutie” at the other end of the bar.
