Swedish Don Corleone: Axwell

Axwell

Axwell, Axer or Supermode, as he is also known, is undeniably one of the biggest names in house music on the planet right now. He’s had success worldwide with his tracks ‘Feel The Vibe’ and ‘Watch The Sunrise’, his production work catapulting him to the forefront of global house music.

There is so much great house music coming out of Sweden at the moment and right at the forefront of it is hit maker Axwell. Playing the drums at the age of 9, Axwell became frustrated with his fellow classmates who could not keep up; so he traded his drums at the age of 13 for a computer and started his music career. Being a founder of the well-known electronic music gang particular – Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell, collectively known as the Swedish House Mafia, Axwell has been setting latest trends in house music. His highly charged sets infuse sexy vocal house, acapellas, instrumentals and dubs and fix them together to create a new song interactive.

Axwell

Anyone with even a passing interest in dance music would have heard at least his two biggest records, Feel The Vibe, and driving Latin beats an insatiable flamenco guitar lick ‘Watch The Sunrise’. In June 2008, he released a song which was originaly produced as a remix for David Guetta’s “Everytime We Touch”. Somehow, Guetta rejected the remix so Axwell took the instrumental of the song, teamed up with fellow house heavywights Bob Sinclar who brought in vocalist Ron Carrol and together they created “What A Wonderful World”.

Only a month later, Axwell released the latest smash, this time in collaboration with another world class house music star Dirty South. The co-production was called “Open Your Heart”.

At the moment Axwell is in the studio with Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello and Laidback Luke to set-up 2009 house music trends. To listen to latest Axwell Dj mix check it out Crobar BoraMusic Housecast Episode 73.
