Start Dancing, Stop AIDS! Dance4Life
Dance4Life is an international initiative set up to involve and empower young people all around the world to push back the spread of HIV and AIDS. Young people are the future and they have the power to halt the spread of HIV and AIDS. The motto for the Dance4Life is “when you want to get young people on the move, then you have to get them moving”. Dance occupies a central place in youth culture all over the world and is considered healthy and positive.

Dance4Life empower young people with the knowledge and awareness to make a difference. The heart of Dance4Life, Schools4Life gives young people the opportunity to make a difference in their own lives and world. It teaches them the important life skills they need to protect themselves but more than this, it inspires them to go out there and actually do something about it, to become actively involved – an Agent of Change. Dance4Life is supported by many different Ambassadors such as Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Tim Westwood and many other singers, DJs, actors and diplomats.
In order to raise awareness as international ambassador for Dance4Life, Tiesto produced the Dance4Life with vocals by Maxi Jazz, the lead singer of Faithless, which has been a hit in many countries. Tiesto also performed at the Dance4Life Event in the Netherlands and went to South Africa to visit projects that are supported by Dance4Life.
“Dance4Life appeals to me both as a performer and as a human being. Their approach to one of the world youth’s major challenges, HIV/AIDS, is very strong. They offer young people attractive ways of becoming involved in the project, rewarding them with a dance event at the end. It is this combination of serious information with dance and entertainment which motivates so many young people to move for Dance4Life.” said Tiesto.
The initiative hopes to facilitate and encourage both the power and energy of young people in realizing that HIV/AIDS is a global issue that requires a multi-faceted approach, an approach that involves government, private sector, communities and the general public.
