1Oak NYC: One Of A Kind

1Oak NYC

The club veterans Ronnie Madra, Jeffrey Jah, Scott Sartiano and Richie Akiva’s new place 1Oak (453 W. 17th St) is the latest hot spot in the city. With a limited capacity of 250 people, 1Oak is intimate. First you need to get in, then you need to be cool enough to get a table, then you can get bottles.

Designed by Roy Nachum the main lounge area is laid in black-and-white striped floors with circular leather banquettes and light fixtures made from recycled bike tires. Wood-paneled exterior exudes masculine charm, matched by ostrich-leather seating and fireplace inside. Babel-like assemblage of letters for wall art, plus paired psychosexual paintings. Single person bathrooms with locks, feature gold basins and an oversized image of a gold gun on the wall.
