In Miami, Mansion is located inside an old theater on Collins Ave—a wide, sleazy commercial drag two blocks from Ocean Blvd. For the setting (South Beach, palm trees, Lambo’s and SUVs on 22s) and scene (spikes/open shirts with flair, titty-ish tan-siliconed women), Mansion perfectly “does” Miami.

I made it to Mansion’s New York opening Friday, for a Jeremy Scott Fashion Week party. Outside, at 2am or so, a crowd was still filtering in and out. At the door, one of the guys I was with knew the door man, and asks, “Is it like Miami in there?” More….
